HR leaders initiate the launch of the profession‘s first Hawke’s Bay HRINZ branch

The beginning of 2011 saw the focus on people and capability leadership in Hawke’s Bay taking another big step forward with the formation of a dedicated Hawke’s Bay branch of the Human Resources Institute of New Zealand (HRINZ).

The Human Resources Institute of New Zealand is the professional organisation for people who are interested or involved in the management and development of human resources.

HRINZ represents the interests of over 3,800 individual members who work in private, not for profit and public sector organisations throughout New Zealand. The Institute provides education and information services, conferences and seminars, publications, representation at government level, and valuable networking opportunities to help members develop their professional skills and knowledge as human resources practitioners and key decision makers in their organisations.

See www.hrinz.org.nz for further information.

The newly formed Hawke’s Bay branch already has a solid membership and is led by a ‘who’s who’ of the Bay’s most influential HR professionals, who confidently expect membership numbers to rise sharply as the branch rolls out valuable and informative events throughout the year.

The inaugural launch event, to be held in May, is open to both HRINZ members and non-members. It will draw together a panel of the region’s influential CEO’s to answer audience questions on their views, expectations, priorities and concerns on the role HR plays in business today and where the profession needs to step up to meet the business challenges of the future.  See details below.

Who should join the Hawke’s Bay Branch?

  • People already working within the profession who want to develop their HR careers
  • People wanting to enter the profession; especially business studies students and employees looking to build on the HR elements of their jobs
  • Any line managers and business owners who see staff as an asset rather than a cost and want to get the most from their teams
  • Business and Community leaders
